The role will be responsible for the following:
Plans accurate academic advising and coaching for programs of study in Nursing Allied Health; includes the accomplishment of the departmental goals and objectives consistent with the mission of the College and the division.
b. Respects the rights of students and access to educational opportunities; participates in the registration process by advising, c. Assists with retention goals and strategies by providing academic advising & academic coaching to current and prospective students.
Represents the division within the College and to the general public.
d. Provides recruiting support, and/or transfer to four-year institutions; support student activities.
e. Works closely with other ChSCC Completion Coaches in support of campus advising and retention efforts.
f. Provide accurate academic advising for programs of study in Nursing & Allied Health.
g. Develop positive and supportive relationships with students beginning with the initial contact and continue to develop the relationships through the program acceptance/completion.
h. Utilize College resources in developing skills essential for academic advising and coach to current and prospective students.
i. Work closely with CHSCC Advisors, Coaches, Completion Specialist, and Faculty in support of Division goals and objectives which are consistent with the mission of the college.
j. Represent the Division in the community by providing recruitment support at events in the community and on campus.
k. Perform other job-related duties as assigned and as needed.Position Requirements:
a. Bachelors Degree in education, technology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited university or college.
Three years academic advising experience in higher education.
a. Master’s Degree in education, technology, or closely related field from a regionally accredited university or college with demonstrated leadership and administrative abilities.
Five years academic advising experience in higher education
