We have an opening for Technical Clerk (C.A.R.E.) at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
-Greet visitors; answer phones; respond to online inquiries for the Center’s lab and lounge reservations; provide general and specific information regarding the Center’s services, events, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain the Center’s electronic calendars of events.
- Work with and provide tasks for student workers.
-Check out/in process of equipment and/or materials to faculty and staff; maintain databases regarding equipment inventory - Provide clerical support to the Center’s director and staff in all aspects of operation.
- Provide clerical assistance for reserving rooms, placing food service orders for external stakeholder events, plant operations service orders, and general support in hosting events.
—Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention effort (i.e., New Student Orientation, group advising sessions) - Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the Center.
-Perform other job-related duties as assigned Position Requirements:
-Education and Training: High School Diploma or GED -Work Experience: Two years full-time clerical experience -Must be willing to take additional training as needed.
Associate Degree in any discipline
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Knowledge of computers (Internet, Microsoft Office Suite) -Skills: Skills in oral and written communication; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with college staff (faculty, support, administrative), and students; providing excellent customer service -Abilities: Ability to develop and maintain a database; to organize materials; to transfer information between parties in a timely and accurate manner; to work a flexible schedule
