Payroll Clerk Payroll Clerk will manage all activities regarding the management of employee compensation in the company.
This role ensures that timely and accurate processing and payment of payroll each week are completed within company guidelines.
This position also requires a great understanding of and adherence to confidentiality.
Alongside preparing payroll, this position assists accounts payable in processing payables as well as maintaining general ledger accounts and preparing applicable accounting reports and schedules.
Role Specific Responsibilities
· Compile timekeeping information for all hourly employees accurately while checking for potential conflicts based on company policy
· Manage compensation packages using payroll software
· Maintain thorough organized files and work space with the ability to scan information into electronic files and work toward a paperless payroll process
· Reconcile and post accounts payable accurately and timely, weekly and at month-end closing
· Prepare any on-demand payroll checks
· Post cash received from customers
· Review and issue W-2 forms to all employees
· Prepare annual audit documentation and any required testing
· Process accounts payable during downtime
· Prepare monthly journal entries related to payroll accurately and timely

Associate’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
Experience: 3+ years of payroll, accounting, or similar experience required.
Certified payroll professional preferred.
ADP experience preferred. Professional Skills: Attention to detail and accuracy with good problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
Eagerness to improve current processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Ability to be flexible in a laidback work environment.
Role Specific Competencies: This position requires extensive use of computer equipment.
Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft business software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Knowledge of general accounting terms with the ability to do reconciliations and analytical analysis.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
Knowledge of processing payroll and compliance rules related to payroll.
Special Requirements: This position requires the ability to travel 5-10%.
Position is M-F, but individual must be willing to stay later than scheduled times or some weekend hours during busy times as necessary.
Must successfully pass drug screen, physical, and background check.
