Credit Balance-Refund Rep Position
Scheduled Hours per 2 week Pay Period: 80
Primary Location: TN > CHATTANOOGA > MOUNTAIN MANAGEMENT OFFICE
Responsible for all refunds/recoups to include: refund requests and recoupments; monthly accounts receivable reports to ensure timely refunds/recoups for both patients and carriers.
Essential Responsibilities: Field patient and insurance calls regarding refunds/recoups.
Audit patient accounts for accuracy regarding charges, payments, demographics, insurance information and submit appropriate requests for adjustments, corrections or refunds.
Review and request all refunds/recoups for all payers and follow policy per payer guidelines.
Review credits on self-pay refund reports, review accuracy of account information needed to ensure proper and timely refunds. Maintain A/R credits aging per payer and practice guidelines.
Review all insurance correspondence regarding over payments. Maintain current working knowledge of insurance guidelines through newsletters and websites and a strong understanding of participation guidelines. Back up for payments and charges at close or during peak times.
High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
Experience: Insurance follow-up experience preferred.
