We have an opening for Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
--Serve as primary strategist for developing diversity, equity and inclusion goals.
Lead the creation of a DEI strategic plan.
Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of DEI initiatives.
Serve as chair of the Equity Team. --Collaborate with Marketing and Recruiting departments to develop a strategy to attract diverse students to the College.
--Lead college?s initiatives relative to DEI in the area of student success.
Ensure academic and social support services are in place and are effectively meeting the needs of underrepresented students.
--Partner with Human Resources to create a workforce that embraces DEI.
Develop strategies to aid in the recruitment of diverse job candidates.
Develop and implement DEI training for the campus community.
--Create partnerships with faculty and the Center for Academic Research and Excellence (CARE) to facilitate inclusive teaching and learning practices.
--Form strategic partnerships with external community that will advance the diversity, equity and inclusion goals of the College.
Represent Chattanooga State at various community events and meetings in an effort to strengthen the College?s visibility and impact on diverse communities.
--Other duties as assigned by the college presidentPosition Requirements:
--Master?s degree in education, public administration, human resources, or related field.
--Five years of progressively responsible experience in education, human resources, or field of work directly responsible for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Or --Bachelor?s degree in education, public administration, human resources, or related field.
--Ten years of progressively responsible experience in education, human resources, or field of work directly responsible for diversity, equity and inclusion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-- Understands and is able to articulate in verbal and written form the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the College and the communities it serves.
-- Ability to facilitate courageous inter-group dialogues and conversations around race, gender and/or other complex social issues.
-- Ability to gain deep respect within the College and the community by possessing impeccable ethical standards.
-- Ability to form strategic partnerships with internal and external constituents to further the DEI goals of the College.
-- Possess a strong historical prospective related to issues of race, gender, and equity and their impact on the College, our students, and our employees.
-- Understanding of the contexts, cultures, and politics within a college environment that impact implementation and management of change.
-- Ability to respond to and address incidents of bias when they occur in a college environment.
-- Ability to use data to inform decision-making and planning.
-- Must have thorough knowledge of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the 1991 Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, and other applicable laws.
