The role will be responsible for the following:
-Direct all functions of the Child Development Center; develop policies and procedures relevant to overall operation of the Center, including management of fiscal and human resources; plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities; provide a healthy and safe environment; establish a conducive learning environment; effectively communicate information to parents, staff, students, etc.
; supervise non-exempt staff -Provide leadership for completing and maintaining accreditation from the National Academy of Early Childhood programs (division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children); ensure compliance with licensing requirements of the Tennessee Department of Human Services -Plan and administer annual budget; maintain inventory of appropriate supplies and equipment; plan food services to provide nutritious meals and snacks -Coordinate quarterly Child Development Center Advisory Board meetings -Develop annual marketing strategies for promoting quality and capacity enrollment of the Child Development Center -Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts Serve as Grant Administrator for all Federal/State grants.
-Perform other job-related duties as assignedPosition Requirements:
Education and training: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or Child Development -Work Experience: Three years management experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Knowledge of early childhood education and development; licensing requirements; administrative/managerial concepts and practices related to the operation of child care systems; computer literacy; current business practices -Skills: Skills in oral and written communication including presentation and public speaking in a teaching context; organization, problem-solving; interpersonal skills consistent with supervising personnel and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; interacting with children -Ability: Ability to manage a child care center; to monitor and direct activities of various age groups (young children, adult learners); to analyze and resolve problems; to make decisions in routine and crisis situations using sound judgment and tactful delivery; to work with others in a collaborative effort; to maintain confidentiality; to handle multiple, simultaneous work demands; to maintain flexibility and be adaptable to change
