We have an opening for Director (Police Services) at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
Develop and maintain a safe environment for the campus community.
-Develop and monitor the department budget.
-Develop and implement strategic plan for the department.
-Develop and maintain the Emergency Preparedness Manual.
-Correspond with the TBR legal counsel, TBI, and all local, state, regional, and federal law enforcement agencies.
-Oversee annual college crime statistic reporting (TBIRS); manage data entry and research on TnCOP, NCIC, III, etc.
-Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.
-Implement and develop procedures and directing operations for the department.
-Prepare reports for external and internal purposes as needed.
-Manage and maintain the Emergency Notification System.
-Develop and maintain training (including but not limited to POST and CPR) schedules for all personnel.
-Select and maintain equipment for the department.
-Oversee supply inventories and re-order as needed.
-Develop specifications for equipment and/or supplies that require bidding in accordance with TBR and college purchasing guidelines.
-Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all equipment.
-Schedule all work assignments. -Prepare a monthly electronic newsletter updating faculty/staff on public safety issues.
-Conduct all personnel actions (hiring, training, evaluating, etc.).
-Promote, support and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts.
-Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Position Requirements:
Education and training: Bachelor’s Degree or seven (7) years of specific job-related experience.
Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Experience: Ten years security or police experience.
