We have an opening for Instructor, Volkswagen Academy at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
Deliver and coordinate training classes for VW apprentices such as robotic, electrical, industrial maintenance, automation, additive manufacturing and other technical apprentice classes through all semesters.
b. Coordinates apprentices’ class schedule with departmental managers, supervisors, specialist and technicians.
c. Teaching & Learning: Teach assigned courses; facilitate the classroom instructional process; evaluate students, monitor progress, assign final grades; provide out-of class academic assistance to students; maintain attendance and grade records; counsel and advise students regarding academic preparation and career goals; work to retain students; mentor and orient faculty and staff; maintain required classroom and office hours.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned and as needed.
d. Course and Curriculum Development: Select texts, supplemental documents, equipment, supplies, and other learning resources; develop supplemental instructional materials; use current technology in preparation, creation and delivery of instruction; create and revise courses and/or curricula as needed; maintain updated course syllabi.
Work with VW point persons to ensure training standards and evaluations continue to meet requirements.
Maintain electronic documentation of applicable course materials and work.
e. Design, develop, deliver and maintain standardized, post-instruction testing for student qualification.
Responsible for both practical as well as paper/pencil examinations.Position Requirements:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology or closely related discipline.
b. Experiences with PLC Siemens, Fanuc Robotics and/or Industrial Maintenance c. Knowledge of automation systems d. Three years fulltime work experience in an industrial environment.
e. One year of fulltime supervisory or management experience
a. Master’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely related discipline with demonstrated leadership and administrative responsibilities.
b. Five years industrial experience; fulltime instructor or three years demonstrated collegiate leadership and administrative responsibilities.
c. Documented leadership and management experience in private industry may be considered in lieu of higher education experience
