Academic Completion and PLA Director/Coordinator

We have an opening for Academic Completion and PLA Director/Coordinator at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
Reports to John Haworth, Dean of Academic Assessment, Accreditation and Compliance.
•Develops and oversees program components of the academic completion initiative by creating goals and objectives appropriate for each division.
•Works as a liaison between Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to ensure clear lines of communication and support.
•Supervises and trains the Academic Completion Specialists •Develops strong working relationships with faculty and division deans advocating for academic completion initiatives and Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) opportunities for students.
•Supervises in-service training for faculty and staff involved in PLA and academic completion initiatives •Organizes and promotes PLA services and resources used for establishing procedures and promoting practices that award credit for prior learning.
•Provides advising and support to those individuals seeking opportunities to receive academic credit for prior learning and in the development of their PLA Portfolio.
•Updates and maintains a current website and libguide for Advising and PLA.
•Develops and maintains a relationship with and involvement in PLA governing bodies as appropriate.
•Prepares and administers the budgets for Academic Completion Specialists and PLA professional development •Additional duties as assigned by VP of Academic Affairs.Position Requirements:
Master’s degree in appropriate discipline or field of study.
Experience in higher education. Experience in academic advising Strong management and interpersonal skills.
Experience in Prior Learning Assessment and working with adult students.
