We have an opening for Grounds Supervisor at our Chattanooga Main campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
-Supervise overall maintenance of grounds, streets, and walks including grass cutting; trimming, pruning, and spraying shrubs and trees; planting flowers; patching streets and parking lots, painting parking lines and installing traffic signs
-Assign staff to accomplish work priorities; train/demonstrate appropriate methods of performing specific tasks and use of equipment; inspect work throughout daily schedule to ensure appropriate performance and completion of job duties; evaluate work performance of grounds workers
-Maintain grounds, landscapes, streets and walks by performing basic horticulture tasks (pruning, spraying for pests and diseases, cultivating flower and landscape beds, fertilizing and watering plants as needed); removing garbage from trash containers and replacing liners; picking up and removing trash and debris; repairing and painting pavements; installing traffic signs and parking bumpers
-Maintain supplies and equipment; inventory and order supplies and equipment; service and repair equipment as needed
-Provide equipment for special events; set up tents, tables, chairs, etc.
; move equipment upon request; remove and store tents, tables, chairs, etc.
-Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention effort
-Perform other job-related duties as assignedPosition Requirements:
-Education and training: High School Diploma or GED, a valid
driver’s license, and current Commercial Pesticide Certification
Three years in grounds maintenance or landscaping
