Creative Director
The Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, articulate and organized project and people manager to be our next Creative Director. The position requires an impeccable eye for creative content, exceptional ability to manage a project from concept to completion. You will have an opportunity to work collaboratively with Chattanooga Chamber staff, volunteers and partners to achieve remarkable work that impacts our community.
The successful candidate must also have excellent attention to detail, be highly organized, disciplined in managing their time and task list, have a strong understanding of project management software and concepts, and effective approaches in utilizing the talents of others in accomplishing their own goals. The ability to write in a creative and engaging way is highly desirable, and experience in social media, videography, podcasts, photography, marketing and graphic design are a plus.
The Creative Director position works closely with the VP of Marketing and Communication in coordinating strategic creative content that advances the goals of Chattanooga Chamber management in a cross-disciplinary manner. The Creative Director is primarily an internally focused position but also interacts with clients, stakeholders, and program managers, requiring a focus on customer service and a friendly, approachable and helpful demeanor.
A sampling of the job duties includes, but is not limited to:
- Manage the creative process from concept to completion, translating marketing, branding and communication objectives into clear creative strategies, and problem-solving to address challenges as they arise.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, including team leaders, program directors, marketing coordinators, finance and IT to ensure budgets, deliverables, timelines and network security best practices and protocols are met.
- Ensure verbal and visual communication and brand standards are met on all internal and public-facing communication and marketing products.
- Meet with upper management to suggest strategies, available resources and timeline constraints of projects under consideration.
- Review work, troubleshoot and provide critical feedback to creative and cross-disciplinary project team members.
- Manage the need for contract assistance to meet creative team needs, preparing comprehensive RPFs to meet company financial policies, and exercise independent, neutral judgment on recommendation to management.
- Support and advise from a creative standpoint on the implementation of SharePoint services, databases, communication media and other content management systems that facilitate internal and external organizational communication goals.
- Work with Marketing Communications team to plan and implement content creation across various platforms, including video, website and podcasts.
- Maintain and update an extensive library of marketing pieces, photos, collateral materials, publication, samples, etc.
The position requires a 4-year degree in marketing, communication, graphic design or related fine arts, plus three years of applicable experience. Commensurate education and experience acceptable.
