We have an opening for Child Care Specialist at our Chattanooga State campus!

The role will be responsible for the following:

-Perform routine cleaning duties to provide a safe and healthy environment -Assist children with personal needs and hygiene -Develop and implement age-appropriate learning and development activities -Organize visual aids to create interesting and attractive learning environments -Supervise college students in Early Childhood Education practicum -Maintain attendance and evaluation records; conduct parent conferences -Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts -Perform other job-related duties as assigned


Position Requirements:

Education and training: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education plus CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of employment date -Work Experience: Educational practicum or one year in a licensed child care center

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Knowledge: Knowledge of instructional methods, materials, and program development; psychological and biological needs of children -Skills: Skills in oral and written communication consistent with providing instruction to children and adults and conducting parent conferences; interpersonal skills consistent with observing and conducting multiple simultaneous activities and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships -Abilities: Ability to evaluate situations (routine and/or crisis) and make decisions using sound judgment; to perform physical requirements associated with the supervision of young children; to maintain confidentiality; to handle multiple, simultaneous work demands; to maintain flexibility and be able to adapt to change
