We have an opening for Instructor (Electrical and PLC) VWA at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
Course and lab instruction in the area of Circuits, Electrical Maintenance, Motor Controls, Siemens PLCs, PLC networking, and systems integration of Industry 4.0 at the Volkswagen Academy. Course and curriculum development, evaluation of students, maintenance of attendance and grade records, and maintenance of 5S practices in all work, instructional and lab areas. Position Requirements:
Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Systems, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline, or industry-recognized certification (Siemens, Fanuc, etc.) with at least 2 years work experience in advanced manufacturing, programmable logic controllers, systems integration, networking, industrial robotics, or electromechanical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a closely related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in the above-mentioned areas. Teaching Experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: Advanced knowledge in engineering, engineering technology, manufacturing and other academic areas included within this department; general knowledge of other academic areas included within the division; knowledge and experience in leadership, supervision, and management principles and procedures. Skills: Skills in oral and written communication including public speaking; interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals; and well-developed skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel. Abilities: Ability to organize and prioritize work demands; to work effectively when under tight time deadlines; to thrive and manage others in a dynamic environment; and to maintain confidentiality. Special requirements and conditions. A flexible schedule and some travel required; must have a valid vehicle operator’s license.
