We have an opening for Diesel Technician/Associate Instructor (Diesel Program) / TCAT-Chattanooga at our Chattanooga State campus!
The role will be responsible for the following:
-Instruction: Facilitate the classroom instructional process; evaluate/monitor student progress; assign grades; provide academic assistance to students; maintain attendance and grade records; counsel/advise students on career goals; work to retain students; maintain required classroom and office hours. -Course/Curriculum Development: Select texts, equipment, supplies, and other learning resources; participate in the purchase of needed program supplies and equipment; develop instructional materials; create and revise courses and/or curricula as required; maintain updated course syllabi; develop and maintain a site on the College’s Learning Management System for all instructional materials and tests; organize and maintain a Program Advisory Board. -Professional Growth: Remain current within instructional field and technologies; acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of current instructional methodologies and materials; attend scheduled college and division professional development and in-service activities; support related professional organizations; participate in the annual faculty evaluation process. -Service to Students: Comply with FERPA laws; participate in advising, recruitment, admissions, and orientation of potential students; assist students with job placement upon graduation; support student activities including SkillsUSA and NTHS. -Service to the College and Community: Assist in the recruitment and selection of college personnel as assigned; participate in accreditation, assessment, and performance funding processes; support and participate in the college’s decision-making processes; provide input and assistance with budgets; attend convocation/commencement exercises and participate in mandatory college programs; develop/maintain positive and cooperative relationships with colleagues; maintain an active program advisory committee; complete the annual Council on Occupational Education (COE) report for the program. -Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
-Education: High School Diploma/GED, three years of full-time recent work experience in a related field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and hand-held devices. Ability to obtain an ASE Master in Medium/Heavy Trucks within first year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree, five years’ full-time work experience, ASE certifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of diesel medium/heavy trucks and the industry; highly effective communication and computer skills; willingness to work extra hours to support college and community events.
