JOB SUMMARY

The Recruitment Coordinator is to effectively develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies aimed at meeting enrollment goals by targeting diverse groups, coordinating impactful recruitment events, managing communication with prospective students, and analyzing data to optimize recruitment efforts, while ensuring a smooth transition from prospect to enrolled student and maintaining excellent customer service. The Recruitment Coordinator will represent the college at various events such as college fairs, high school visits, foundation board meetings, and community programs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Recruitment Leadership & Strategy Development (30%)

    • Work independently to develop, execute comprehensive recruitment strategies, event planning to meet enrollment goals.
    • Coordinate recruitment activities targeting all target groups, such as, general public, traditional, non-traditional, parent, middle school, and assist the veteran’s coordinator. 
    • Identify target markets and create tailored outreach strategies.
    • Maintain and update prospective student databases.
    • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make data-driven decisions.
    • Ensure a smooth transition from prospect to applicant to enrolled student.
    • Partner with academic departments, student services, and other campus units to support recruitment efforts Coordinates recruitment activities for all populations, including but not limited to, Campus Tours, Open House, Program Showcase, Cougar Days, and Halloween on Wheels.
    • Coordinate with Marketing and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
    • Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Admissions and Marketing to design a Communication Plan for prospective students and applicants.
    • Supervise recruitment staff and all aspects of recruitment.

 

Event Coordination, Communication, and Outreach (25%)

    • Plan, organize, and execute on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, including open houses, college fairs, high school visits, and information sessions.
    • Coordinate logistics for events, including space reservations, materials preparation, and staffing.
    • Work in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Admissions to manage communication with prospective students through various channels, including email, phone, social media, and in-person interactions.
    • Develop and distribute recruitment materials such as brochures, flyers, and digital content.
    • Maintain marketing materials including brochures, t-shirts, viewbooks, etc.
    • Communicate the college’s value proposition.

 

Campus Tours and Visits (25%)

    • Create a campus tour program with scheduling options for individual and/or group tours.
    • Conduct campus tours for prospective students and their families, providing detailed information about academic programs, student life, and campus resources.
    • Schedule and organize individual and group visits to the campus.
    • Assist prospective students with application procedures, financial aid processes, and other enrollment-related inquiries.
    • Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all prospective students and their families.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting (15%)

    • Collect and analyze data on recruitment activities and outcomes.
    • Prepare reports on recruitment efforts and progress towards enrollment goals.
    • Stay current with trends and best practices in college recruitment and enrollment management.

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (5%) :

  • Must attend all college functions as required.
  • Serve on college committees as required.
  • Serve on various college committees as approved by the supervisor.
  • The appointee will be required to meet those standards now required or which in the future may be required by the Tennessee State Board of Regents and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
  • The appointee may be required to achieve additional skill, knowledge, or credential levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

EQUIPMENT

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking ability.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills including initiative program planning and assessment.
  • Excellent time management skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software packages including Microsoft office suite.
  • Experience with BANNER software is helpful.
  • Knowledge of comprehensive community college concepts.
  • Knowledge of basic college recruitment concepts and strategies.
  • Experience in planning and executing events, such as community fairs, college visits, etc.
  • Awareness of effective customer service practices, and ability to implement them within an educational setting.
  • Capacity to identify challenges or obstacles in the recruitment process and develop creative solutions to overcome them, ensuring the successful implementation of recruitment initiatives.

 

JOB STANDARDS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university required. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Previous experience in college admissions/recruitment or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Google Suite and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, required.
  • Community college experience, knowledge of Banner, CRM software preferred.
  • Work activities routinely involve work with personal computers and peripheral devices. 
  • Must be a licensed driver and able to operate a vehicle.

 

JOB LOCATION

The main campus of Cleveland State Community College, Cleveland Tennessee, is the primary workplace, but there will be requirements to serve the McMinn Higher Education Center (MHEC).

Occasional travel and work outside of normal business hours both on-and-off campus as events require, within the service area.

Regular travel within the college’s service area is required, including service are high schools, as well as occasional travel to other sites for statewide meetings and other related events.

This position may require evening and weekend work, as well as travel to various recruitment events and high schools.
