Direct Support Professional Caregivers

The Orange Grove Center of Chattanooga, TN, is seeking Caregivers for Supported Living (Direct Support Professionals) to work with individuals that have intellectual or developmental disabilities. Caregivers may work in one of three (3) residential settings: ICF/IID, Residential Habilitation, or Supportive Living. Will provide direct care for 1 to 8 individuals. Pay is based upon the residential setting. 

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED is required in all departments. Driver's License, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), and class "F" endorsement are required in all residential settings. Supported Living needs Med Certification as well. DSP training is available through OGC.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Will support individuals in all daily activities. Such as: preparing meals and eating, all aspects of personal hygiene, selecting clothing and dressing, transport to and from the day program as well as doctor appointments, etc. Will attend community outings with the individual. Will meet all personal outcomes and complete all paperwork and daily notes. Must assist with laundry and making sure that the individuals environment is kept neat and clean. Will keep all training current. Must communicate respectfully toward supervisor and all staff, family members and individuals. Any other duties as assigned.

Since its inception, OGC has been at the forefront nationally in pioneering services for individuals with IDD. Today, Orange Grove proudly offers person-centered services and programs to nearly 1,200 children and adults, with a goal of transforming our community into one that is truly inclusive and diverse – one where all of its citizens have the skills and support necessary to live the life they want.
