GENERAL SUMMARY 

This position is responsible for the safety, production, and quality in the production of nonwoven products.  Responsible for learning and demonstrating a working knowledge of operating the baler area fiber production line.  Able to perform job functions with limited assistance.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate with off going Assistant.
  • Prepares bale wrap and twine for baling.
  • Patrols line to monitor quality 
  • Delivers bales to storage area via lift truck.  
  • Deliver samples to lab.
  • Communicates with Operator of any mechanical issues. 
  • Responds to all production line alarms
  • Assist in changing dies as required.
  • Perform Cleaning and Inspection activities
  • Some computer data entry
  • Works closely with all team members and assists with maintenance when necessary. 
  • Work safely in accordance with all plant safety regulations.
  • Participates in process adjustments and product changeovers
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem solving.  
  • Actively participate in Rapid Improvement Events.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Utilizes buddy system and follows all safety regulations when working around godets.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the lift truck.
  • Works with a minimum of supervision.
  • Perform other work as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • High School Graduate or GED is required
  • Understanding of plant processes; how activity on the floor affects inventory accuracy and, ultimately, financial performance
  • Ability to communicate with and work effectively with all levels of teammates, from shop floor to leadership team
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office (with exceptional skills in Excel)
