Merchandise and Membership Coordinator
Summary
The Merchandise and Membership Coordinator's primary responsibility is Psi Chi's merchandise services, which includes resolving order issues and refunds, maintaining inventory, and satisfying fulfillment, shipping, and processing needs. The Coordinator's secondary responsibility is in membership services, which includes processing membership requests, and supporting Society members via phone, email, and videoconferencing.
The Merchandise and Membership Coordinator reports to and collaborates with the Director of Information Services and Membership Operations on various merchandise and membership needs. This entry-level position is exempt fulltime under the Fair Labor Standards Act and reports to the Director of Information Systems and Membership Operations.
Principal Responsibilities
- Merchandising & Inventory Management
- Works with Director of Information Systems and Membership Operations to order shipping materials.
- Coordinates various delivery needs with vendors and suppliers.
- Monitors for low inventory numbers and reorders as needed to ensure sufficient levels of inventory.
- Works directly with vendors to resolve damaged products and otherwise unacceptable merchandise issues.
- Ships and packages orders with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assists in the physical count of incoming inventory for replenishment needs.
- Monitors merchandise inventory needs via the Ecommerce dashboard.
- Reviews and recommends revisions to inventory procedures on a monthly and yearly basis.
- Membership Services Assistance
- Processes individual membership orders paid by credit card when needed.
- Processes requests from advisors for membership fee waivers for students with financial need.
- Processes requests for transfer of memberships across institutions.
- Assists with various needs for chapters, including those with inactive status.
- Monitors the merchandise@psichi.org email to provide customer service to members.
- Customer Service
- Assists in answering phones and replying to online contact forms.
- Monitors the merchandise@psichi.org email, aids in monitoring the membership@psichi.org email, and responds to inquiries.
- Ensures the best customer service for our members by covering for other department staff when they are absent or extremely busy.
- Regional Convention Assistance
- Collaborates with the Director of Communications, Awards and Grants Officer, and Operations Specialist to arrange shipping convention materials.
- Coordinates shipping and receiving convention shipments.
- Other Duties as Assigned by Director of Information Services and Membership Operations or the Executive Director
- Job Type
- Full time.
- Hybrid, up to 32 hours per work week onsite.
- Based within one hour of Chattanooga, TN and willing to work eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm Eastern time.

- Experience with product shipping and inventory management.
