Diesel Shop Manager
Job description
We are currently looking for an experienced Diesel Shop Manager ti take on our small fleet of trucks. In this role the successful candidate will manage our diesel shop facility in all capacities; perform tractor trailer repair and maintenance work in accordance with company standards; run diagnostics on trucks; hire, train, manage and mentor other mechanics.
A typical day would include but not limited to:
Managing and mentoring all shop employees, including mechanics, safety technicians and wash crew
Coordinating all service and repairs with office staff and drivers
Performing diagnostics and repairs on diesel equipment
Working with outside vendors to service and repair equipment as needed
Driving and moving trucks and trailers
Ordering and managing parts, tools, and supplies
Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including DOT Safety Regulations
Perform administrative duties as needed, including receiving and entering repairs on computer daily
Provide clean, safe working conditions of the facility and equipment
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
3-5 years shop management experience
5+ years of fleet maintenance experience
Able to lift at least 90lbs (tires)
High professional behavior and work ethic in all aspects of management and performance
Excellent reading and writing skills
Diesel Engine, Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanics: 1 year (Required)
Class A CDL (Required)
